Tax Assistance for Individuals with Disabilities

 

 Individuals with disabilities and those who have disable children may qualify for several IRS tax credits and benefits. 

 Special assistance is given to the persons with disabilities. If you are a disable person and are unable to complete your return, you can take assistance from the IRS office or from through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. This program is intended to give relief for the disable taxpayers. This is a special tax relief program.

If you want to qualify for this program, you must be a disable person. The individuals qualify for this program if their household member or any disable person they provide care to is a disable person.
You must be a taxpayer interested to get tax information and help in tax return preparation.
Disability Tax Benefits

• If you are a disable person, you may qualify for income exclusions, some FATCA & US taxes deductions and credits.
• The legally blind persons should refer to Publication 501, Exemptions, Standard Deduction, and Filing Information to see if they qualify for an increased standard deduction.
• Individuals having physical or mental disability that interferes with their employment should refer to Publication 529, Miscellaneous Deductions.
• Individuals who are elderly or disabled should refer to Credit for the Elderly or Disabled,
• Publication 524. 
• Individuals having medical expenses should refer to Publication 502, Medical and Dental Expenses.
• The deaf people can get the telephone assistance and those having hearing problem can get assistance with TTY equipment. There is a toll-free number for this service which is 800-829-4059. You can contact from Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. (caller's local time). Those who are deaf or have problem of hearing but not having this equipment can get obtain access through the federal or state relay services.
